Brick Again. The Boy Who Blinked again.

Whilst editing The Boy Who Blinked, I used another technique that I read about whilst looking up the film Brick. There is a part in The Boy Who Blinked, where young Billy runs out of his house, and out of the garden gate. I wanted to juxtapose this with him being punched as an old man.

However, because they happen horizontally opposite; Billy on the left in one, and Billy on the right in the other, I have had to flip the image of him running out of the gate.

Hopefully this will work well, and the juxtaposition will work, but I'm not entirely certain just yet.

Back to Brick, I read in an interview with the director once, that he had to have an image flipped, in order for it to make sense. It involved a car driving, with someone being able to see the passenger from the side. However, because of positioning/availability/whatever reason, they had to shoot going the wrong way down the road, and flip the image.

"We can fix it in post"
