Task 2: The Boy Who Blinked

Our 2nd task is to re-cut an existing film. This is from a previous MA students portfolio, I believe. The difference between this and Journey Through The Night is that we are not working with rushes, but instead, the actual film. This should be a new experience, and prove to be a little more difficult than working with rushes.

The film follows two characters: the same person, as a boy and an older man. As a boy he is bullied somewhat, but overcomes his bully by punching him. However, as a man, he is still bullied. Throughout the film there is sporadic hints at the cold war.

My initial thoughts are:
1) Scrap the cold war aspects. I really don't like this. I don't think it works at all.
2) Either keep the man as a pushover, but change the boy to not stand up for himself. Or the other way round. Why would he get over being bullied as a boy, only to be bullied as an adult again?

PS

Don't you think the man looks like Leeds United chairman Ken Bates?
