In this task, we are to edit the rushes from a short film, according to a script we have been given alongside a log of the shots.
The film is about a man on a train to Amsterdam (according to the narration - although the train station looks oddly like Paris to me), who finds himself inside a carriage with a self-professed cannibal. The cannibal tells him that he is going to eat the passenger, in non-diagetic speech, going into full detail about how he will do so.
My ideas:
1) This all seems like a flashback, so a montage of the clips at the beginning.
2) Jump cuts - keep the action punchy. Also if this is a flashback, memory is not 100% clear.
3) Use the fabulous burn outs that are found in the rushes to cut between shots, showing a passage of time.
